The Cat Called Ma’am

The Cat Called Ma'am

There is a cat who lives in my house
Her name is Ma’am and has never
caught a single mouse

As a kitten babe she lived
with my son and his
forever girlfriend
If she would have been my
little kitten her attitude wouldn’t
be to condescend

Now that my dear boy has
moved back home and
brought this cat with him
When he leaves for days on
end I try to make her
behavior proper and prim

See, she only likes the male
human beings and the
females are a big pooh pooh
She will hiss and scowl
at me all the while I am
trying to make my point get through

After 2 years of this battling
back and fourth I have with her
I had a break through
last night and a positive
thing occurred

She was so lonely and
needed love that she
let me give her a pet
Not one hiss or boo she
never even had to
break one little sweat

She purred and looked
up at me with her eyes full of relief
My mind could hardly
comprehend this
astonishing disbelief

I then went off to bed and
much to my shock and amaze
She followed me down
to my bed and hopped
on it and as I fell asleep and
thought
I hope she stays

Glad you had a breakthrough with your cat! I am still the object of my best friend’s cat’s scorn.
